Eye infection :(

Postby Gunnar » Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:34 pm

Hey everybody!

My little boy had a wonderful play-date weekend with a friend, but when he came home, he had an eye infection :crybaby:

I've been using a saline solution and have tried adding a little apple cider vinegar to the mix, and it got a little better...but then it spread to his other eye!

Has anyone had any luck with this kind of thing? What's a good path to take?

not sure I'd want vinegar in my eye :/
If it's not too bad, you could try polysporin eye drops (NOT regular polysporin!), or get it looked at by a vet. Eyes are important, and the infection may need antibiotic drops.

That's what I thought, but I heard someone say that a couple diluted drops worked for them :/

I'll try the polysporin drops! I didn't think of that, thank you! Its not too bad, so hopefully it works :)

Update!

The vet said that he just has allergies, and it might not be an infection at all. His eyes have returned to normal, after about a week of supplementing his food with Russian kefir. He loves it, and his allergy symptoms have all but disappeared :)
