Hello!

First time posting, I rescued "Angel" a few years ago from a shelter and just looking for info from fellow owners.

My main thing is that whenever we bring her in the car, her eyes bug out of her head and she gets really stiff and stressed. We try to take her on rides to let her know nothing bad will happen but she just cries the whole time, and is very hyper. Could this mean that her previous owner threw her out of a car? How can I get her to calm down (without doggie drugs) if we go on a trip? Thanks!

How do I get my picture small and on the left so I don't clog the threads? Thanks!

Hi.
I have found that the best way to help a dog through certain fears is by aclimating them to it slowly. Maybe just start playing in and around the car with her. after awhile let the car idle and continue to play with her in and around it. If she ever becomes comfortable with that just take her for short rides around the block.
When she starts bugging out don't make a big fuss about it. Just act like everything is ok.
