Any Texans on this forums ?
i'm from the DFW Area.

this is my mad max, who is no more :(
he died about 2 months ago...i got him 7 years ago in new york (we moved to DFW a year ago) from a shelter. They told me he was a lab...but when i took him to a vet, she told me he was definitely part pit.

I think its about time for me to get another dog. Any good places in DFW to get a nice pit for about 200?

thanks

Howdy and welcome! There are lots of places in the DFW area to get pit bulls. SPCA always has them, and there are quite a few pit bull rescues in the area. Theres a thread around here somewhere on them. I think a lot of them are listed on petfinder.com.

hi big rock , your first option should be a shelter , but it is YOUR option on who you buy your apbt from however there are some members here who breed their dogs ,im sure if you ask around you can find them ,these members are NOT socalled back yard breeders, just thought id make that clear. :welcome:

Welcome to the board!!! It sounds like adoption would be a perfect option for you. Adoption fees generally range around $200 and that way you could get a dog or pup that was already spayed or neutered, checked for heartworms, vaccinated and not to mention you'd be saving a life. :) Aside from http://www.petfinder.com you could also try http://www.pbrc.net

thank you all for the welcome and your suggestions.

I adopted my last dog (max, he was only 8 weeks old) 7 years ago...we only paid like $40 adoption fee back then. I guess it has become more expensive to shelter these dogs.

The thing is, I can't adopt a grown dog, I need a puppy around 8-10 weeks old, cause we have a little child (2 years) at home.

Maybe one of the breeders from this forums can give me a deal :))

thank you guys once again

Welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your Max. I understand your want for a puppy, but don't give up the idea of adoption - there are still lots of pit bull puppies that need loving homes as well! Good luck in your search and keep us posted! :hi

I'm in Dallas also! You can check out my baby on dogster, or look for my others posts. She's the sweetest thing in my life!

I kinda want another dog too, but she's such an attention whore, I don't know if I will do it!

Good luck and welcome to the forum, I'm sure you both will love it!
