I would read the sticky top of health and go from there.
Petsmart does not carry any of the top/good foods.
But, if you HAVE to buy from Petsmart, Blue Buffalo", (it is just as expensive as the top 5 foods and not as good ,so you might as well get one of the top 5 foods)
Glad you are taking your baby off that Beneful !!!!

I don't love the fact that you can't find the complete label anywhere online but the food in this thread doesn't seem to be awful: http://www.pitbullforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=10070

Just remember - it has to be the harvest baked formula because their other formulas have corn and that is very undesireable. I would be sure to supplement with salmon oil if I had to feed this food because I'm thinking canola oil does nothing for the dog. Omegas are very important.

If you add sme warm water to that Merrick Pot Pie, it will make a yummy gravy and they LOVE it! I add enough warm water to cover the kibble, then let it sit aobut 5 minutes, it will have a nice creamy gravy. That brand also has the raw, bio coating too.
I sometimes get the can Merrick. The Granny's Pot Pie smells so good when you open that can, I swear one day I just might taste it!
My dogs love the Merrick, both dry and too.

Merrick is a wonderful quality food, I had my 5 on it for several months. They looked fantastic, gleaming coats, nice muscle definition....but their FARTS were so bad we were about ready to install a ventilation system in each room to suck the smell out! LOL Seriously, with 5 of them on that Grammy's Pot Pie, I thought we would die from the fumes! :yucky:

I mix Merrick canned in with our dog's food and have been impressed by it. Thor LOVES it ( and he can be vey picky in his old age) and the canned food has big chunks of whole meat in it. I don't give enough for it to cause the nasty fumes. . . just for flavor really, but I also like that they have so many protien source options. I rotate up the duck, turkey, buffalo, and venison.

I feed Merrick. That's the best food you will find there.
