Both yogurt and cottage cheese are good because of high protein levels, amongst other things you should check out chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, some canned fish like salmon, and eggs. You need to use protein from animal sources, as in protein from vegetables and plants is not complete, they need some additional amino acids which plant and veggies lack.

Cottage cheese is a protein source, yogurt is a protien and enzyme shource. It depends on what you are feeding it for.

Cottage cheese is made by adding culture to milk, cooking it and then separating out the curds from the whey and then cooking them some more.

Yogurt is a cultured product - you add enzymes and culture to heated milk and then let it sit at a warm temperature to allow the cultures to work.

Completely different and not really comparable.

And for some dogs, like Brisbee, all dairy makes them projectile vomit. Some dogs are lactose intolerant ...

If you're going to give yogurt, make sure it's whole fat yogurt with no sugar (not flavored). Check out the more 'natural' brand yogurts.

I feed both...its good to have variety in the dog's diet. I'd get bored eating the same thing over and over again.
