Breed Identification for Adopted Pits (and owners)

I adopted my baby at a local county shelter and was told he was a pitbull cross. But I have found a "pitbull" could mean a varitey of breeds. He is also a interesting color. I am not educated on breed specifics, I just fell in love with our boxer/pitbull and thought I would get another pitbull. Can anyone help me? I can email a pic from my parents house this weekend?!
