Dry Skin

Can anyone suggest something we can give Jada for dry skin. She used to scratch alot, and when we called the vet they told us to put safflower oil on her food. So we did that and it seems to be helping with the scratching, but her nose is still VERY dry. The upper part of her nose looks brown instead of black its so dry.
It looks like shes been digging in the dirt...

vaseline or bag balm, a medicated lanolin ointment.

i also supplement my dog's food with fish oil.

You might also want to add a bit of fish oil to her food. My dog had minor dry skin and I added a bit of fish oil to her feed and she's never had the problem sense.

Fish oil works real good on my dogs too (they have VERY dry skin, esp. in the winter). I get the human kind from Wal-Mart...cheaper than the pet store.

i use derm caps es. im also in the middle of switching his food over to wellness fish and sweet pot. i've heard great things about it as far as helping with skin and alergies.
